- Stokes Marshall spearheaded the collaborative efforts between the Mount Pleasant Town Council, TenetHealthcare and senior residents who were willing to advocate for a Mount Pleasant Senior Service Center in 2003. The Town of Mount Pleasant Senior Service Center officially opened October 8, 2008 and bears the name of Thomasena Stokes-Marshall.
